Posted - 01/08/2011 : 17:25:59 PD Jones of Norah, Nebraska, passed away yesterday from cancer. He said he hadn't been feeling well for about a year and when he finally went to the doctor (because cowboys try to tough it out), he learned that it was too late.
PD, known as "Bud" to his close friends and family, and registered as Philip Dean Jones, was to say the least, a colorful character. In his youth, he was a professional bull rider. He was married and divorced four times. He once owned a saloon and occasionally hosted strippers, for which he would do the announcing.
PD admitted to enjoying his booze and cigarettes. He said that he'd had lots of fun during his lifetime. He was a staunch conservative and number one fan of Sarah Palin. One of his hobbies was to deliberately antagonize Liberals on the Free Speech Horse Forum. Amazingly, those same "little lib girls" are among those who are grieving for PD today.
PD Jones became an international celebrity through his Youtube videos, especially the one about hobble training horses. When it was mentioned to PD that likely some of the multi-millions of people who viewed his hobbling video had found it while searching for sleazier stuff, he said he didn't mind as long as the checks from Google continued to arrive. When PD learned that he was dying, he set it up so that his beloved niece (who cared for him during his final days) and her little children will be the recipients of future earnings from his Youtube videos at http://www.youtube.com/pdj47 .
PD was one of the kindest and most loving people I've ever known. This was something that surprised his detractors, after they got to know him better. That despite his crusty exterior, he was very tender hearted and tolerant and willing to be a friend to anyone who needed a kind word.

72 virgins welcome PD.
(PD would think this is funny.) |
