Posted - 06/10/2011 : 13:12:05 I would like feedback.
I follow someone on Twitter because about half her tweets are extremely witty. Unless she has a team of professional writers working for her, my impression is that she is a very bright and clever gal.
The moral dilemma is, she frequently tweets about her erotic art blog that has photos of herself doing xxx stuff. I took a peek and imho, she is an exhibitionist and goes beyond erotica into porn.
I follow quite a variety of people, including my fellow fwiffers (if I'm not following you, let me know your Twitter handle).
My concern is, because the one gal tweets so often about her erotic art blog, does that put me in danger of being misunderstood by people who don't know me? Does it make me look sullied by the very tenuous association?
Personally, I don't care what she does as long as she keeps the funny, satirical tweets (ahem) coming, and isn't harming children or animals or anyone else. I ask myself, why do I care what other people think? If they are concerned about my choice of whom to follow, they can always ask for an explanation, right?
Some of you will, I think, find my dilemma is ridiculous. Some of you (Sean, Koli) will want to know who the exhibitionist gal is. Her Twitter handle is DrSarahJensen.
I await your opinions. TIA. |

Oh sure, you follow DrSarahJensen for her witty tweets just like Koli subscribes to Playboy for the articles or Sean subscribes to Sheep Illustrated for shepherding tips.

I doubt anyone is looking at who you follow that closely.

Lil, it comes down to the jerks, I think. Last night, a guy who posts responses to things on Facebook went off on a rant hating Mark Wahlberg because he is going to write a film for Justin Beiber.
Actually, the little squirt is a pretty good actor, as I recall from his appearance as a racist-cultist type on one of the Law & Order version eps.
I was also impressed by Miley Cyrus' impersonation of Bieber on SNL. She may not be the sharpest tack in the box, but she does have skills. |

Posted - 06/14/2011 : 04:17:02 Lil, it comes down to the jerks, I think. Last night, a guy who posts responses to things on Facebook went off on a rant hating Mark Wahlberg because he is going to write a film for Justin Beiber. He ended up saying he's going to end up being Marky Mark after all. It sort of annoyed me that he'd reduced an Oscar nominated actor and producer as well as Emmy nominated to crap because he is interested in doing a film with Bieber. I posted a response and the next thing I know, he's sending me private messages raking me over the coals because, apparently, I'm not hating on Wahlberg and said that Bieber is successful, so what? I responded privately that I was not interested in continuing this argument in private, nor did I care to keep getting his messages. The dude showed me, he did. He blocked me, like I would be hurt by it. Bottom line, the guy was never a Facebook friend, I stopped his argument in mid fight and I'm not in the least bit hurt by being blocked by someone who approached me only to send arguments via private message. I know who the guy is and my thought was he was either high or drunk AGAIN. The moral to the story is, you can't make everyone happy and if you're lucky, you lose the whiners by calling them on it. Don't fret it, dear. I grew bored with Twitter last year and haven't opened it in months, for what that's worth. |

I should have included a smiley in my last post. I completely agree that there are tons of great information sources, including Twitter; I just meant that I'm already a victim of my own inability to stop looking stuff up. |

A few years ago when we discussed Twitter here, I said I didn't 'get it.' I remember your comment that all you would have to post would be "I'm still typing."
Since then, I've come to love Twitter as a great resource for information junkies like myself. Its value varies according to whom one follows. I follow a lot of science and skeptic bloggers and web professionals. Look me up at http://twitter.com/LilPeck |

Posted - 06/10/2011 : 23:08:40 I don't even know how Twitter works. There are enough ways to waste time on the internet without adding another, so I've never looked at it.
I'm even less inclined to follow Twitter now that I know you can see what others are following. I'm not sure I'd want anyone else to know that my favourite twitterer is #sadopedosnuff

I have wondered if perhaps he might be mildly aspergian. I tend to think of him an artist myself, one who just misses the "cill my landlord" mark of elite in-crowd approval. ;) |

Good, because I also follow Gilbert Gottfried. I haven't decided if he is just a jerk, or a misunderstood artist who pushes beyond the envelope.
I put Gilbert more in the artist category than jerk. He lacks basic social skills, and he may not even be human, but he is often very funny to me. |

Posted - 06/10/2011 : 15:44:42 I agree with Cheese_Ed, I don't think people look too closely at who other people follow on Twitter - and even if they did they'd have to be following her themselves to know that occasionally her tweets pass into pornographic territory. Your secret is safe with us. |
