You may have noticed that WHL hasn't been on the fourum recently. Knowing that she hasn't been well, I got in touch with one of her Facebook friends to find out what's been going on. This was the reply:

I talked to her Saturday and she was fine, just pretty well STUCK! She really has no mode of transportation open to her, just trying to grab a ride when she can. She called me, and I'm not sure how to get ahold of her myself. I was supposed to take her shopping today, but weather is too horrible, roads too slick. She is getting settled in with her meds, but she needs another place to live. She is just too isolated where she is now, and the place is going to fall in around her ears soon! Her computer is a disaster. She has paid a local all her extra money to fix it, and it still is non-functiional. I told her I would help her with that also, but I haven't been available for a month, so....I will do what I can to get her back online, but I live over an hour away, and have a hard time dividing up my time. I don't know what I will get into when I take her computer in again, but fear the worst, as it is a rather old one.

I will pass along your concern and I'm sure she'll be happy to hear you are thinking of her. But, as I said, her health has dramatically improved. Her situation now has to improve! She says she has applied for an apartment in town, so maybe that will come thru soon. That is about all I know right now.

Her friend has said that she will pass along occasional updates, which I will post here for those that are interested.

That's so kind of you, Chris, to follow this through. I'd sent her a couple of eMails myself, but I'm thinking now she may not have received them. Anyway, if you are in touch with her Facebook pal again, please let whl know we're all rooting for her.

It looks like WHL is on her way out of her internet limbo. A laptop has found its way to her, and I had this (now edited) message from her benefactor, who would like to remain anonymous.

WHL received the computer -- now she's just got to get some damned internet access (she and her neighbor share a connection, and it was on the fritz)! I talked to her by telephone on Christmas Eve Day, and she sure sounded happy. The new laptop had her tickled pink.

HIP HIP HUZZAH!!!!

Yes, thank the lucky stars and the kindness of strangers, I am officially back in the ethernet. A great laptop has found its way to me and as of tonight, I find myself reconnected via wifi!!! I am so very grateful for the kindness that has gotten back online and the goodwill that brought it. I have not yet looked at my email, still adapting to the changeovers. I am adjusting to my meds, to changes in my vision and the loss of my aunt. It's a lot of change. Thanks to all who have asked, those who helped and those who cared. Much love and huge hugs!!!
